Preparatory Department for Foreign Citizens
The Preparatory Department of the Ukrainian State Aviation Academy is the first step toward obtaining a high-quality aviation education in Ukraine.
It is designed specifically for international students who wish to enroll in engineering and technical specialties at the Academy. Studying at the preparatory department will help students master the Ukrainian language, adapt to the Ukrainian education system, and acquire the necessary knowledge for further studies.
The curriculum includes:
- Ukrainian language (intensive course)
- Mathematics
- Physics
- Computer Science
- Fundamentals of Technical Terminology
- Introduction to Aviation and Basics of Aviation Safety
Duration of study:
10 months. Enrollment is open throughout the year.
Who is it for:
Foreign citizens who require language preparation to enter bachelor's or master's programs.
Upon completion:
Graduates of the preparatory department receive a state-issued certificate and may continue their studies in the main academic programs of the Ukrainian State Aviation Academy.

Obtain a visa and arrive in Ukraine.
Required documents for admission:
- Application for admission (scanned copy if submitted by email);
- Consent form for the processing of personal data;
- Educational document (apostilled by the Ministry of Education of the issuing country);
- Original and a copy (with notarized translation into Ukrainian) of the educational qualification document that forms the basis for admission, in case of personal submission;
A photo of the original and its copy with a notarized Ukrainian translation — if submitted by email. If enrolled, the original and a copy must be submitted. - Supplement to the educational document — original and a copy with a notarized Ukrainian translation, in case of personal submission;
A photo of the original and its copy with a notarized Ukrainian translation — if submitted by email. If enrolled, the original and a copy must be submitted. - Original and copy of the foreign citizen’s passport or identity document, with translation into Ukrainian.
A photo of the foreign passport or identity document is also required.
Important: Documents mentioned in points 2–3 must go through the legalization process (apostille) in the country of issuance, translated into Ukrainian, and notarized.
Citizens of countries that have visa-free agreements with Ukraine (Georgia, Moldova, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan) do not need a visa to enter Ukraine.
However, when crossing the Ukrainian border, they must present an electronic invitation for study as proof of the purpose of their entry.
To obtain a type D visa, a study candidate must submit a document package to the Ukrainian consulate in their country, as listed on the Embassy’s website.
A mandatory document in this list is the electronic invitation for study.
The invitation is issued by the Ukrainian State Aviation Academy after receiving the required documents through the applicant's personal account in the Unified Interdepartmental Information System of Ukraine for foreigners and stateless persons wishing to study in Ukrainian institutions of vocational, professional pre-higher, or higher education via the link:
